Iftekhar Hasan
Dr. Hasan is the Cary L. Wellington Professor of Finance and the Director of the International Center for Financial Research at the Lally School of Management and Technology of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He also serves as the Scientific Advisor at the Central Bank of Finland; a Visiting Scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta; and a Research Fellow at the Berkley Center of Entrepreneurial Studies at the Stern School of Business of New York University.
Dr. Hasan areas of expertise are in corporate finance, financial institutions, entrepreneurial finance and capital markets. He is an Editor of the Journal of Financial Stability and an Associate Editor in a number of journals such as the Journal of Money, Credit, and Banking, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of International Money and Finance. Dr. Hasan has over 200 publications in print, including 12 books and edited volumes, over 125 peer reviewed journal articles in reputed finance and economics journals such as the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Business, Journal of Monetary Economics, Journal of Financial Intermediation, Journal of International Money and Finance, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Money Credit and Banking, European Finance Review, Strategic Management Journal, and Research Policy.
Dr. Hasan has presented his research work in over 300 professional meetings and institutions worldwide and has been a consultant for the World Bank, United Nations, and the Italian Deposit Insurance Corporation. He has held visiting faculty positions at several reputed European and American universities such as the University of Rome, Italy, Robert Schuman University in Strasbourg, University of Limoges in France, University of Carlos III in Madrid, EPFL at Lausanne, National Taiwan University and Cheng Chi University in Taipei, and Stern School of Business in New York.
