Present position and research activities
Kurt Matzler is Professor and Chair of the Department of International Management at the Johannes Kepler University of Linz/Austria.
He is also academic director of the Executive MBA-program at the Management Center Innsbruck (MCI) and teaches at several MBA-Programs, including the MZSG in Switzerland, the LIMAK in Linz/Austria, and the Salzburg University Business School. As a partner of IMP, an international consulting company with its headquarters in Innsbruck/Austria, he also serves as a consultant to companies in a wide variety of industries.
His primary research and teaching interests are in the area of Global Strategic Management, Knowledge Management, Market Orientation and Innovativeness. Kurt Matzler is author of three books and editor of more than ten books in his research areas; he has published over fifty articles in peer-reviewed journals.
Kurt Matzler received the Research Award of the Stiftung Südtiroler Sparkasse AG in 1995. He was Visiting Scholar at the WHARTON SCHOOL, University of Pennsylvania in 1996. He was also Research Fellow of the "Verein zur Förderung der wissenschaftlichen Ausbildung und Tätigkeit von Südtirolern an der Landesuniversität Innsbruck", in 1997. Dr. Kurt Matzler was Visiting Adjunct Professor for International Business at the School of Business of Fairfield University, Connecticut/USA (1998) and at Southeast Missouri State University (2000). In 2001 he received the Erwin-Schrödinger-Research Award and was visiting scholar at Bocconi University/Milan. From 2003 to 2005 he was Professor and head of the Department of Marketing and International Management of Klagenfurt University in Austria.
Kurt Matzler Member of European Academy of Management (EURAM), the American Marketing Association, the Strategic Management Society, the Academy of Management, the European Marketing Academy and of the German Verband der Hochschullehrer für Betriebswirtschaft.
