Irena Jindrichovska

Dr Irena Jindrichovska comes from Prague, Czech Republic. She has a Master's degree in Economics and PhD in Economics both from Prague.
She is a Senior Lecturer in Finance and Accounting and a Programme Director of the MSc in Accounting and Finance at University of Buckingham (UK). She previously lectured at the University of Wales Aberystwyth (UK) and at Charles University in Prague.
She is a co-author of three books on finance and has written numerous research articles in international accounting and financial journals. She participates in and leads research grants both in the UK and in the Czech Republic. In her research assignments she worked with ICAEW - Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, ICAS - Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland), the EU Commission, the Czech Ministry of Education and the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic (GACR). She provides feedbacks and works with international publishers Wiley-Blackwell, Bloomsbury and Pearson.
She currently teaches: Financial Management (UG), Financial Risk Management (UG/PG), Corporate Finance (PG), and Dissertation (MSc in Accounting and Finance)
Irena also organises events for accounting and finance students and partnership with professional organisations in the field accounting (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) and insurance and financial planning (Chartered Insurance Institute and Financial Planning Association).
Her areas of expertise include Banking, Market-based Accounting, International Accounting, Capital Markets and Emerging Capital Markets. She is now working on a comparative study of EU approaches to corporate governance comparing different practices across Europe.
In her non-academic occupation she also worked as an internal auditor in an international bank Societe Generale and provided consultancy and educational programme for major investment company in Prague (nowadays part of Erste Group, Austria).
