Professor Danica Purg got her Bachelor's degree in Sociology at Ljubljana University, and her degrees of Master and Doctor of Politics at the Department of Philosophy of Belgrade University. She also studied at Sorbonne and at Harvard Business School in the Top-management Programme. D. Purg knows the Serbo-Croatian, English, French, German, Dutch, Slovenian, Russian, and Italian languages.

After graduating from the University, Danica Purg worked for several years at the Yugoslavian Foreign Office. Since 1975 she has been teaching and researching at Maribor and Liubljana Universities. And since 1985 Professor Danica Purg has headed the Interna-tional Top-management Training Centre in Brdo-at-Kraniu.

Professor Danica Purg is an activist in the international system of managerial education. She is member of the International Academy of Management. In 1990-1996 she was board member of the European Foundation of Management Development (EFMD) and member of the Academic Committee of the European Management Research Foundation. Since 1993 Professor Danica Purg has headed the Central- and East-European Association of Management Development (CEEMAN).

Professor Danica Purg has published a number of books on the problems of organizational changes, self-management, and HR management. She has also published numerous articles on these problems published in the journals of ex-Yugoslavia, Holland, Germany, Japan, Great Britain, and the USA. She has spoken at over 50 international conferences.

The Honorary Doctor Diploma and the medal was held on 25 November, 1999 during the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the State University of Management.
