Ermanno Pitacco

Full Professor of Actuarial Mathematics, Faculty of Economics, University of Trieste; Academic Director of the Master in Insurance and Risk Management, MIB School of Management of Trieste, Italy

Ermanno Pitacco is full professor of Actuarial Mathematics, in the Faculty of Economics, University of Trieste, and Academic director of the Master in Insurance and Risk Management at the MIB School of Management of Trieste.

He is an actuary, full member of the Istituto Italiano degli Attuari (Italy), and affiliate member of the Institute of Actuaries (UK).

He is Associate Editor of the international journals "Insurance: Mathematics & Economics" and “Decisions in Economics and Finance”, member of the Groupe Consultatif Actuariel Europeen, member of the Education Committee of the IAA (International Actuarial Association), and member of the IAA Health Section Committee. 

Main fields of scientific interest are life and health insurance mathematics and techniques, pension mathematics, portfolio valuations.

He is author and coauthor of textbooks and papers in the fields of scientific interest. Among the books:

In 1996 was awarded with the INA prize for Actuarial Mathematics from l’Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei.
