Robert H. (Robin) Luke

Ph.D., Professor of Marketing, Head of the Marketing Department, Missouri State University, USA 

He has been very active in service to his University and the marketing profession. He has been honored by the Academy of Marketing Science (AMS) by being recognized as one of the first fifteen individuals selected as a "Distinguished Fellow of the Academy of Marketing Science". This is the most prestigious position of the Academy. He served on their Board of Governors for the 1992-1996 term. He has also served as the AMS Vice President of Development, Vice President and Vice President for Academic Affairs.  

He served as President of the Marketing Management Association (MMA) 2008-2009, and as a Board Member of the Marketing Management Association (MMA) and was Program Chair of the spring, 2008 MMA Conference. He has received the MMA’s Firooz Hekmat Award in Consumer Behavior and their prestigious Marketing Excellence Award.

Dr. Luke has presented numerous papers at international, national and regional Marketing conferences and has received “best paper awards” from national and international organizations. He has served as the first Department Head of two Marketing Departments and directed the development of the MBA/MPA programs for the University of the Virgin Islands. He serves or has served on the Editorial Review Boards of the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Marketing Management, Journal for the Advancement of Marketing Education, and the Innovative Marketing Journal 

His publications have appeared in the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Marketing Management, Journal of Computer Information Systems, Journal of Midwest Marketing, Journal of Restaurant and Food service Marketing, Marketing Education Review, The Journal of the College of the Virgin Islands, Journal of Restaurant and Food Service Marketing, Contemporary Perspectives in International Business, Journal of the Missouri Bar, State Bar of New Mexico, Arizona Bar Briefs, The Colorado Lawyer, and Virginia Bar News, among others.  

He is the author of Business Careers, published by Houghton-Mifflin Co. This book became an authoritative informational source on career opportunities for students, counselors and advisors wishing to know more about business professions. He is highly sought after as a business consultant and speaker.

In 1997, Robin was honored by his home city of Springfield Missouri - receiving the Gift of Time Award for his outstanding dedication to serving the needs of the Ozarks through his many volunteer activities. He presently serves on multiple profit and non-profit boards.

He has given and/or continues to give major service commitment to the following community and corporate Boards of Directors/Advisors: Missouri Partnership for Outstanding Schools, Ozark Greenways (Past President), Community Investment Alliance, Sports Directories International, the Community Foundation of the Ozarks, Vision 20/20, the Downtown Springfield Association, Ozarks Chapter of the Boy Scouts of America, A+ Advisory Board of Glendale High School, SLS Loudspeakers, Springfield Trust & Development Company, Central Trust and Development, and Lake Country Youth Soccer.

Dr. Luke had an active and unusual entrepreneurial career at the early age of sixteen. As Robin Luke, he wrote and performed "Susie Darlin", a song that sold over two million copies in l958-60 and became number one around the world. His career as a recording artist spanned six active years and 14 records...appearing on such shows at Dick Clark, Perry Como, and many more. Due to the continuing popularity of the Oldies, his music has been re-released on many albums and CD's and continue to be played (Bear Family Records CD# BCID15547 contains 31 of Robin’s songs). He is regularly asked to appear in concerts and other entertainment venues in the U.S.A. and around the world. He is a member of the “Rockabilly Hall of Fame”.

Dr. Luke has owned and developed several successful businesses and regularly consults with major U.S. corporations and institutions on marketing issues as a Senior Consultant with R.H. Luke & Associates, Rogersville, Missouri.
