Dr. Chao Chen is the Founder and Director of the Center for China Finance and Business Research (CCFBR).

Professor Chen received his Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Maryland in 1988. In addition to books, newspaper articles, and professional journals such as Valuation Strategies, he has written for the Journal of Futures Markets, Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, Journal of Alternative Investments, Financial Review, Annals of Economics and Finance, Global Finance Journal, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, Advances in Finance, Investment, and Banking, Advances in Pacific Basin Business, Economics, and Finance, and International Journal of Business. Since 2001, he devoted his research related to China's financial markets and corporate finance and his works were published in China and World Economy, The Chinese Economy, Journal of Financial Research, Chinese Accounting Review, Petroleum Science, Journal of Economic Science, Journal of International Financial Research and Journal of Managerial Engineering. In recent years he has presented more than forty papers at international conferences and was an invited speaker at 2004 Wharton School's China Business Forum.

He has received twenty research grants and awards, two best paper awards, and two teaching awards. In addition to teaching at CSUN and the University of Maryland at College Park, he has held visiting affiliations with Tsinghua University, Peking University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Nankai University, Beijing Normal University, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Currently, he serves on the executive committee of China Institute, and the advisory board of Seven Arrows Capital Management, US-China Business Institute, and the Chinese Heritage Foundation in San Fernando Valley.
