The role of institutional ownership in strengthening to the enterprise value on the banking issuers

Views: 1550 Downloads: 118 TO CITE АНОТАЦІЯThis study examines the role of institutional ownership in moderating the relation between fundamental factors of a company and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Enterprise Value (firm value). The type of this research is an explanation research method. The sampling method was a proportional random sampling method of the population of banking companies of the Indonesian Stock Exchange. The method of data collection was documentation. The method of data analysis was Multiple Regression Analysis. The results of this study showed that simultaneous net profit margin and corporate social responsibility had a significant effect on the firm value. Partial test shows that net profit margin variables had an effect on the firm value and corporate social responsibility variables, which consist of economy, and had no influence on firm value. The results also indicated that institutional ownership strengthened the relation of fundamental factors and corporate social responsibility with the Enterprise Value.

Risk management practice, alliance management capability, and enterprise resilience: Findings from Indonesian state-owned enterprises

Views: 912 Downloads: 326 TO CITE АНОТАЦІЯIn the era of high uncertainties, all businesses, including state-owned enterprises, are trying to be resilient, be able to absorb the negative impacts caused by the changes, adjust, rebound, and then thrive and success after the disruptions. This study aims to examine to what extent risk management and alliance management capabilities promote enterprise resilience among Indonesian state-owned enterprises using dynamic capability theory. Analysis was done using SPSS and Structural Equation Model – Partially Least Squares on 322 valid questionnaires that were received via an online survey from the boards of directors and senior management of state-owned enterprises and their subsidiaries. The study discovered that alliance management capabilities have a significant positive effect on enterprise resilience and risk management practice. Furthermore, the findings show that risk management contributes significantly to the formation of enterprise resilience and act as a mediator between alliance management capabilities and enterprise resilience. Thus, enterprise resilience can be developed by having the ability to form and manage alliances effectively and efficiently, as well as practicing risk management, which allows a firm to anticipate and plan mitigation actions in the face of an uncertain and disruptive situation.

Revisiting the impact of entrepreneurial orientation on SMEs’ organizational performance

Views: 387 Downloads: 147 TO CITE АНОТАЦІЯThis study investigates the impact of five dimensions of entrepreneurial orientation (risk-taking, proactiveness, innovativeness, aggressiveness, and autonomy), an independent variable, on SMEs’ organizational performance in Bangladesh. The study surveyed 237 SMEs’ owners (out of 300, with a response rate of 79%) in Gazipur district, Bangladesh. Cronbach’s alpha (α) value of 0.70 was used to examine the reliability of the constructs in this study. Drawing from earlier research, a five-point Likert scale questionnaire was constructed to assess the links between entrepreneurial orientation and SMEs’ organizational performance. The dependent variable in this study was SMEs’ organizational performance, which was based on business growth, change in number of employees, profitability, and sales growth. The hypotheses were tested using SPSS with a 95% confidence interval. The results suggest that all five dimensions of entrepreneurial orientation positively affect the organizational performance of SMEs in Bangladesh. It is evident that proactiveness (β-value = 0.330) has the greatest effect on SMEs’ organizational performance, and competitive aggressiveness has the least effect (β-value = 0.230). The independent variables explain a significant proportion of the variability observed in SMEs’ organizational performance (R2 = 57.4%). The research outcomes offer valuable implications for entrepreneurs, policymakers, and academics.
