The role of awareness in predicting the intention of microfinance entrepreneurs to buy microinsurance services in Yemen
The study looks into the role of microinsurance awareness in predicting microfinance entrepreneurs’ intentions to purchase microinsurance in Yemen. It is based on a survey of 201 microfinance entrepreneurs who received loans from Yemen’s National Microfinance Foundation (NMF) for various purposes. The analysis and hypothesis testing used PLS-SEM. Along with additional tests regression analysis was employed to examine the effect among the study variables. According to the results, microinsurance awareness and the intention of microfinance entrepreneurs in Yemen to acquire microinsurance services were found to have a significant positive association. The study specifically demonstrated the potential of microinsurance awareness to predict the desire of around 17% of microfinance entrepreneurs to purchase microinsurance services. The study proposes focusing more on increasing microinsurance awareness among microfinance entrepreneurs to attain optimal benefits. The sample size of the prospective study could be expanded to include more microfinance organizations. It could also investigate the role of formal and informal institutions in the country’s acceptance or rejection of microinsurance services.

Understanding how the available limited resources can be best utilized during adverse conditions seems essential. Accordingly, this study attempts to understand key factors enhancing entrepreneurial bricolage (EB) among micro and small entrepreneurs, leading to better growth aspirations (GA). The study gathered a sample of 280 micro and small entrepreneurs from December 2024 to January 2025 through online and in-person visits to their business locations. Data were analyzed with the help of partial least square-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The study has reported that commitment (COM) and soft skills development (SSD) are positively and significantly correlated with EB, and EB positively and significantly influences GA. Furthermore, EB mediates the relationship between COM, SSD, and GA. However, COM reveals no direct connection with GA, but SSD reports a positive connection with GA. The study provides theoretical and practical implications for policymakers, stakeholders, and academic researchers.

The influence of access to technology and digital literacy on female empowerment and digital entrepreneurial intentions

Views: 112 Downloads: 40 TO CITE АНОТАЦІЯWomen’s empowerment is crucial for achieving Sustainable Development Goal 5, which seeks to eliminate all discrimination against women and promote effective female participation and equal opportunities. Education is one of the most powerful tools for empowering women. Therefore, this paper aims to examine the relationship between access to technology, digital literacy, digital entrepreneurial intent, and female empowerment, using data from 217 female university students in Saudi Arabia. Conformity factor analysis (CFA) and multivariate covariance-based structural equation modelling (CB-SEM) were utilised to explore this complex relationship. The path analysis reveals a significant link between access to technology and female empowerment. Technology can substantially influence individuals’ lives by enabling women to make informed decisions and shape their futures, thus promoting gender equality. For young students especially, access to and use of technology can positively support their social inclusion and independence. An important positive effect of digital literacy on both digital entrepreneurial intent and female empowerment is also observed. The ability to effectively use communication and information technology depends on access to and proficiency with such technology. Additionally, individuals’ motivation to seek information and their plans to attain business objectives using the Internet rely on their digital literacy. Finally, the results confirm a significant mediating role of digital literacy in the influence of access to technology on digital entrepreneurial intent and female empowerment, suggesting that individuals can only benefit from access to technology if they have the ability to utilise communication and information technology.
